Mimbs vs. J.A. Cambece Law Office, P.C. (S.D. Fla. – July 31, 2013) – Case No. 12-62200. Plaintiff claimed our client, a law firm, violated the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act by continuing to contact her after she indicated she was terminally ill. In granting our client’s judgment on the pleadings, the court rejected Plaintiff’s argument that her health problems lowered the standard for determining whether the allegations in the Complaint were sufficient to support her claim that a violation of the law occurred.
